This installation was built by slightly modifying plans included in a 1964 shelter design manual. This set of instructions was originally conceived to allow an individual to rapidly construct a shelter in the basement of one’s home using furniture and household items that were readily available. For the purposes of this project, the remodeled shelter was built using contemporary furniture and common household objects.
